Kids’ Favorite South Florida Public Swimming Pools

kids favorite florida poolsLocals know that South Florida is more than just sandy beaches and ocean. Our public pools are also a great destination for any hot summer day. Parents may like public swimming pools better because it is easier to keep an eye on children. Public pools also offer specific amenities that children enjoy like slides, waterfalls, and water toys.

Here are some of our favorite public pools:

Paradise Cove Water Park, Pembroke Pines

If your child is looking for something exciting, all of the slides at Paradise Cove are sure to satisfy any wild streak. It is the largest water park in the Fort Lauderdale area. In addition to the thrilling water slides, it also has a water playground specifically for children ages 5 and under. There is another water playground for older children as well. Take the entire family for a day, and everyone is sure to find something to do. Full day admission for each person is under $10.

Normandy Isle Park and Pool, Miami Beach

This pool is great for younger children because it has water toys and splash pads. Adults enjoy the full-sized lap pool. It also has plenty of space for parents to lay out while they keep an eye on their children. Lifeguards are always on duty. The park also offers room for other activities such as a soccer field, basketball courts, and a tot lot. The best part is that all of these activities are completely free for residents.

Venetian Pool, Coral Gables

For a much more relaxed experience, try the historic Venetian Pool in Coral Gables. Although it is technically a public pool, the landscaping and layout makes guests feel like they are at a hidden waterfall. Kids can let their imagine soar as they play in this island-like environment. There are no waterslides or splash pads, but there are some areas that are not as deep for small children. Lifeguards are on duty at all times. Children under the age of 3 are not permitted. It is also a little more expensive than the other public pools because guests are paying for the fantastic landscaping.

If you find yourself constantly at the public pool, perhaps it is time to consider investing in a pool for your home. Think of how nice it will be to avoid the crowds and enjoy the pool in your own back yard. Call The Pool Doctor for a free consultation at 561-203-0270.
